Hospice23 Conference - April 2022

As many of you will know, our annual conferences have traditionally been the central focus of our work. We are thrilled to announce that plans are now underway to run a 1 day conference on Saturday 30th April, 2022.

This will be a chance for anyone working or volunteering within palliative and end of life care to re-set, restore and rebalance

The conference will provide an opportunity to explore complex issues, guided and facilitated by experienced and expert professionals. There will also be time and space for reflection, networking, music and relaxation. The overarching aim is that delegates leave the conference feeling refreshed and re-energised.

The programme for the day is currently being finalised and we will update this webpage with more information as plans are confirmed.

For now, please put the date in your diaries and we hope to see you in April.

Reflections on previous conferences  ...

Working in palliative and end-of-life care comes with a unique set of demands, even more so given the additional challenges that Covid19 continues to present.  A while ago, we asked delegates of previous conferences to reflect on what exactly Hospice23 Conferences had provided .

Here is what they said :

  • A space to reflect on who I am in my professional life within a spiritual framework
  • A sense of keeping the fire and energy kindled for holistic care in our work
  • Space and time to catch up with the soul
  • Truly multi-professional space to hear and learn from each other - there is no other equivalent space
  • Academically stretching with opportunities to chew, digest and consider
  • Beautiful settings enhance the experience and the timing (often Autumn) seems to chime with considering death and dying
  • The international nature of the delegates enriches exchanges that support and encourage.  Many cultures are not happy to talk about death, but in talking about death you end up living more.
